“We have so much fun here on the North Coast! One of my favorite events is the famous ‘Kinetic Sculpture Race’, a three day race held every Memorial Day weekend, beginning in Arcata and ending in Ferndale. Other great events are Pastels on the Plaza, Arcata, the Arcata Oyster Festival, the Trinidad Fish Feed, the Fortuna and Orick Rodeos, the Ferndale Horse Races, and Pony Express Days in McKinleyville. The Humboldt Botanical Tour is held every summer. One of my passions is gardening and the North Coast climate is ideal for beautiful gardens. Arts Alive, Arcata Arts!, and McKinleyville Arts run all year long. Don’t miss the rip-roaring Crab Baseball games in Arcata….and all of Humboldt’s Farmer's Markets throughout the community are active from Spring through October."
